Digital Editions

Instead of using your fingers to flick through silky-smooth pages, you can now click or swipe your way through the official EVE Online magazine via the magic of pixels. Yes, at long last EON is available in digital format via Zinio.com either as a single issue or a four-issue subscription.

Click the image below to preview the latest issue (#026) in your browser. Issues #001 – #025 will be added to Zinio over the coming weeks and months.

  1. Arghhhhhhhh, is there ever going to happen? And is there any way the current subscribers could also get the issues digital when i happens.

  2. It could happen… maybe… probably… yes. Definately!

Sadly, we can’t hand out free digital editions to buyers of the print versions. We wanted to (it was one of the sticking points that caused the delay), but they will have to be bought separately. However, buyers of the print edition could receive offers/codes via email from us for discounted digital editions. Once the back catalogue is up it’s something we’ll look into.

  3. Please offer the magazine in ibook app.

  4. Don’t make the mistake to charge the same as an actual monthly print.
I have monthly subscriptions to digital magazines starting at 0.99 cents a month.

  5. A valid point and a subject we have wrestled with for some months: Do we go uber cheap and risk killing print sales, or do we try to protect the print version, which is after all our core product. Also a tricky problem given the value people put on their digital items in the modern App Store era.

In the end we figured that with $15 being the print price, $10 seemed a good level to settle on for a single digital issue, especially when you take in to account the zero mailing fees.

  6. Look mans, i live in Russia and still dont get my #26 issue. One ask – when this happens?

While there, one more question – you were promised a free electronic version of the magazine to all subscribers to the printed version. So far, it is not. In the future, is it possible?

  7. Issue #026 was sent late, but they are on their way.

Also, yes, we hoped to offer combined digital + print subscriptions, but it’s not possible at the present time. As I alluded to in a comment above, however, loyal customers can expect some form of significant discount if they want to “digitise” their collection. What form that will take, I can’t be sure

  8. Pity on the format you picked. Zinio/adobe AIR may be shiny as as a high sec incursion fleet, but personally I’d have been a lot happier with a .mobi (Kindle without DRM) format. Even regular .PDF would have been awesome, like with ISK, which is on my Kindle now & forever, or at least until it updates significantly.

See baen.com for a “how to do it right in e-publishing.” I’m not an employee, but like the authors there (Ringo, Flint, Weber, Bujold, Drake, a who’s-who in modern SF) and have been a customer for almost a decade.

A $10 electronic edition in one format, that I have to get from a third party, that I have to be connected to the internet to read, is terribad. DRM is terribad.

Did you use the same “advisors” that CCP did for Incarna NEX pricing and items? Jeeze. Who got the kickback & baksheesh from Zinio?

  9. After a few negative comments, I hereby eat my words !!! Happy to see the digital edition available. Bought right away. Looks great on the iPad with the Zinio app.

  10. Love the new website.

I bought the digital version and it’s great. Would like it on something other than Zinio though. iPad and computer editions look great, but a little slow and I can’t get it to work on iPod, which is where I do most of my reading if you can believe that.

I intend to buy everything you guys put out digitally and prob in print too (love shiny paper). Any chance you’ll put in your universe map digitally? That on the iPad would be great for cross region reference.
