Huge EON Sale: 50% Off Everything

Black Friday has always been a thoroughly American phenomena, but increasingly we find ourselves in other countries celebrating it as well. The first day of the Christmas shopping season, it’s become the day that retailers heavily discount their wares and millions of shoppers take to their cars to pack the roads and shops to hunt down the biggest bargains for goods they probably don’t need. So fevered are the malls and so deep the price cuts that some shoppers will resort to extreme violence to bag a cheap TV for the bathroom. I’ve experienced the full-on caffeinated horror of a Black Friday and can confirm that it is both wonderful and utterly depressing.

Thankfully for most of us in the old world, Black Friday is purely an online thing. If you’re a Steam user, you will already be familiar with the hefty discounts that cycle around at this time of year. The unfortunate thing is that should you indulge your inner gamer and buy all the games you would never have bought at full price, a year from now you will likely find yourself with a virtual stack of games that have never been played. Better instead, perhaps, to hunt down a TV for the bathroom. Or maybe a stack of EONs to read while changing channels.

Yes, that’s right, we’re unashamedly getting in on the Thanksgiving action by discounting everything we’re ever produced to 50%. That’s every issue of EON – including the current issue, the ISK guide, EVE Strategic Maps and the poster pack for half price. Even the perma-discounted half-price mega-bundle is 50% off, meaning you can buy every issue of EON ever produced in one go for a quarter of the original cover price. If you just have a couple of gaps in your collection (Issue #015 was rather overlooked, I feel) now is a great time to fill them. You can even subscribe to the magazine for the next year at half price, by which time Black Friday 2012 will be upon us and we might be running the same offer!

All you need to do to take advantage of this KER-RAZY offer is enter the Promo Code EONBF50 (just don’t forget to hit ‘apply’) when paying at the EVE Store checkout. Note that the code doesn’t apply to EON subscriptions, but these have been discounted to $28 which amounts to the same saving. Also be aware that discounts don’t extend to postage and packing costs, but at least you don’t have to brave the holiday traffic.

The EON Black Friday offer will last for one week, with prices reverting back on December 1st. Tell the world, tweet your friends.

UPDATE: The issue with subscriptions being charged at normal rates is now fixed. Subs have been discounted to reflect 50% saving. We are in the process of refunding those that were overcharged.

  1. I applied the coupon code to the 1 year subscription and it didn’t change the price. I tested it when checking out with paypal and it still listed full cost. Now I have an order I can’t seem to delete and I can’t use the code again as it is one time only.

  2. Same old story I’m afraid. I recall last year being a total mess. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

  3. It’s fair to say there are issues with the EVE Store at the moment. We’re chasing up with CCP Atlanta and will sort out as soon as we are able.

  4. site still claims its been moved and will be sorted for 18th nov so someone forgot something,

on another note i wish we had more choice of which issue a sub started to save on overlapping subs to take advantage of such an offer

  5. It seems that the 50%-off code is currently not working for subscriptions but is being applied for everything else (single issues, uber-box, posters, ISK/ESM, etc). Those that have bought subscriptions are of course being refunded the 50% overcharge (it’s not a holiday in the UK so we’re on this already) and if you wish to still buy the subscription you will of course be refunded. If instead you want to hold off until the lever is pulled that activates subs in the offer, we will announce as soon that happens. Thank you for your patience.

  6. Cool. I’ll hold on for a fix to be applied.

  7. Beware that the coupon code can only be used one time per account. I made a first order and was then thinking about making second one too and it told me that I can’t apply that code again.

  8. Hell, I wouldn’t order anything from these guys. I’ve left multiple emails so far with no response. I ordered the eve survival pack, only received half the order and can’t get anything from these guys.

  11. 50% off applies only to EON products (magazines, subscriptions, back issues, posters, EVE Strategic Maps, ISK Vol.1 Guides, EVE Survival Packs), not to other items in the store.

  12. It is nice that you sell old thing for half price to win new customers. I have paid more but for that I have received it earlier.

But for old subscriber it fells somehow odd that I have to pay the full subscription price because I renew my subscription in summer while people renewing in November will only pay half the price according to “by which time Black Friday 2012 will be upon us and we might be running the same offer” :(

  15. Code worked for me fine, just used it today. Maybe try clearing your browser and reentering the code or use a different browser. Coupon Code issue is still not resolved as of today November 27th, 2011 USA.

  16. EON Subscriptions now available at half price. Just $28. Subscribe now at the EVE Store – no code needed!

    Posted by Ian | November 28, 2011, 4:27 pm
  17. The coupon still does not apply a discount to the subscriptions. UK order here.

  18. The discount has already been applied in the store, reducing a sub from $55.96 to $28. So the EONBF50 code will not apply to subscriptions, but does still apply to everything else.

  19. Will the offer be extended? The site seems to be down.

    Posted by boabie | November 30, 2011, 3:24 am
  20. store back up after downtime… coupons still not working… Meh.

    Posted by jason | November 30, 2011, 5:18 pm
  21. Once everything is working the offer will be extended.

    Posted by Zapatero | November 30, 2011, 5:31 pm
  22. @zapatero – You state the offer will be extended. However, CCP Store now says “All Coupons have been disabled due to technical issues and will not be available at this time for future orders. We apologize for any inconvenience this may of caused you.” – Which is it?

    Posted by jason | November 30, 2011, 10:01 pm
  23. I wanted to act on this deal but the store was either down or not discounting the orders properly.

    Posted by Jordan | December 1, 2011, 12:35 am
  24. Indeed.. I’ve been trying to get a subscription to EON for close to 72 hours now… but I will not pay full price for it ever. It’s just too expensive with shipping to the US.

    reactivate this coupon code please…
