All this week we’re running a daily auction to celebrate the release of the EVE Survival Pack. What this pack contains is a copy of the 400-page Industrial-Sized Knowledgebase [ISK] Vol. 1, the latest edition of EVE Strategic Maps, the Low-Sec Paths poster and a poster map of New Eden (both rolled rather than folded). The idea is that with a combination of guide and maps, owners will forever be safe from harm when travelling in New Eden.
[For legal reasons we should point out that only advice and information is contained within and that should you be in a real survival situation (i.e bitten by a poisonous snake, seeking shelter during nuclear attack or needing medical attention after a paper cut), the EVE Survival Pack will not help you. You could perhaps use the poster tube as a basic rocket launcher against a wave of zombies, but don’t ask for a refund if after pulling the cardboard trigger the explosive rolls out the end and blows your foot off.]
So how can you win one of these sought after packs? Easy, all you have to do is log in to EVE, go to People & Places, search out ‘Zapatero’ (me), give an amount of ISK and hope that no-one else has bid more than you. This is an all-pay auction, which means there will be no refunds. The highest single bid registered in Zapatero’s wallet by a single character before 0000 UTC (EVE time) each night this week will be declared the winner and a Survival Pack will be sent in the mail the next day (or on Monday for Friday’s winner).
As for the unsuccessful bids, these will be totalled, rounded up/down and given away as a (hopefully huge) prize next week. I’ll let you know how big the prize pot is as we go along.
Some rules: Bids will not stack. If you mistakenly give ISK to another character assuming it to be Zapatero, or if it is not the amount you intended to give, I can’t help you, sorry.
This is all a bit of an experiment so bear with me if it all goes horribly wrong. If you have any questions, ask away below. Good luck and, er… survive safe!
Monday’s winning bid was from Adrielle Firewalker.
Tuesday’s winning bid was from Master Raban.
