Last August dozens of capsuleers raced their ships in a no-holds-barred chariot race through the stars to claim a share of the glory and some of the six billion ISK that was raised for prizes (some of it from the EON coffers). Much fun was had by all and much death was experienced by more than half the racing pack, so much so that the race is back on for June. Rather disturbingly, so much more death and gore is predicted this time around that the event has been dubbed Death Race II: Bath of Blood.
It isn’t just pilot innards streaming through the void that we can expect to see either. Organiser Rixx Javix is promising the race will be longer, more epic and obviously more violent. In an effort to get him to explain just why that might be, he responded thus:
“Official forum posts and the NEW Death Race Blog will be going live on Monday with official rules and entry information. What I can tell you now is this, the race will be in two phases, the first destination will be revealed when the race starts but the final destination and finish line won’t be revealed until all surviving racers are in the first destination system… where we have some surprises awaiting them! It isn’t called BATH OF BLOOD for nothing!
What a tease! I guess we’ll have to wait until Monday to hear more.
