Frigate league: Is it time to declare an early winner?

I’ve been going over the rules and results for the EON Frigate Tournament that was set up to run between March and June and it seems to me that a lot of pilots have dropped out for various reasons. This is a little unfortunate yet understandable given the numbers taking part and the gulf that separates top gun from bottom of the heap. Had I been a competitor I’d be hovering down the bottom somewhere and would likely be thoroughly disinterested in continuing. With that in mind, would people be very upset if we brought the league to an early conclusion so we can put some thought into how to improve things if we do another competition in the future? I’m perfectly happy to keep it running until the scheduled end on June 30th – as it would give me ample time to assemble the prize money from all our shady off-planet accounts, but I sense most would prefer it if the medal ceremony was brought forward a little.

Whatever the masses decide, it seems to have been a good couple of weeks since we’ve had a killmail sent our way. If you have sent one since the results table was last update on April 13th, please can you send it again, this time to me, so I can get the table properly up to date.

  3. Next time – 1 month or less per reset/prize giveaway. It’s hard to be enthusiastic about a single activity for such a long time, so naturally it tapers off – secondly, the players who’re far behind have little incentive to continue.

I personally found that faction items were seriously unbalancing. A fight against a faction repper fitted opponent was almost a guaranteed loss, and it made little sense for my own ship to fit one – some people were flying with single modules worth about 5-10 of my ships (and a significant portion of the prize value)
I don’t think they should be outright banned, however, but it seems like an issue.

I also feel that it would be beneficial to put some kind of cap on the number of fights that will affect the outcome.
Perhaps the best 20-30 fights are included in the points value, only using any spare fights if there is a tie.
