Starting 1st March – Frigate Tournament

It seems like my idea for the frigate tournament hit home to a lot of people so it’s now here to stay. I’ve already have four entrants and with all being well, the league will kick off on the 1st March. So this means you have now until the end of February to submit your character and be in the chance of winning the top prize of 500mil.

Official tournament rules

Not too different from yesterday really…

  • 3pts for a win
  • 1pt for a draw (can happen)
  • 0pts for a loss
  • Game ends when the opposition ships blows up or 5 minutes has passed. If no ship has blown up in 5 minutes a draw is declared
  • T1 frigate hulls only. No pirate or navy faction
  • No restrictions on mods, implants and hardwiring
  • No pod killing (pod killing results in a -3pt loss)
  • No warping away (warping away results in a -1pt loss and automatic loss)
  • You may challenge plus or minus 2 places of your position
  • To challenge, simply EVE mail the character and organise
  • Game will start from 1st March until 30th June

Prizes

  • 500mil will be awarded to the winner of the league (awarded on the 1st July)
  • 250 mil for 2nd place
  • 100 mil for 3rd place

Entry submission

I’ll need your battle report in order to award points in the form of a killmail showing both participants. Either from Battleclinic or your own killboard. API verified of course.

  1. where do the players ‘meet’ to brawl it out?

  2. Anywhere you want, it’s up to you to organise that.

  3. This looks like it will be difficult to keep up on legit stats.

    I’m a bit skeptical.

  4. It’s quite easy actually.

It’s free for those who want to.

  5. Interested, though there is a lot of skeptisim in the eve online forum as to the ability to prove someone runs away, or to prove no remote rep or otherwise are going on.

    Any thoughts to this.

I’m considering pushing our alliance pilots to sign up for this, think it be a great excuse to push more 1 vs 1 pvp but knowing all things eve can and will be corrupted to some unscrupulous persons means….I think these are legit concerns to address.

    Cheers

  6. There isn’t a lot of skeptism, it’s 2 people. If it becomes a case of he said she said and cannot be resolved in a sensible fashion, both will be kicked out as this is a tourney for fun with a little prize money.

It’s a free tourney and it’s totally up to you whether you join or not.

I’m hoping this will never happen as the vast majority of us are adults and would like to see the tourney run properly.

  7. Alright, I’m not trying to put the idea down ( so if I detect a defensive tone there I’m going to ignore it for now. )

By a lot, I’d said if the majority of the replies for and against count as the body of people discussing and half the bodies are expressing skeptism then “there is a lot of skeptism”

My viewpoint, understood you dont subscribe to that.

That being said….I would indicate in the rules then exactly what you said “If it becomes a case of he said she said and cannot be resolved in a sensible fashion, both will be kicked out” As that addresses the concern in my opinion.

    I’d good with it :)

I truely respect the fact that there is an assumption were mostly adults…I don’t subscribe to that as I think there are far too many who take things too seriously and thus have the temper tantrums of 9 yr olds or they really are 9 yr olds…but I don’t see that being any reason to not do this tournament.

So on that note if those nuiances are fine to agree to disagree while still seeing it as essentially resolved by what you’ve said will be the recourse of any childish behavior…then thanks a lot, look forward to it and expect to discuss with members to get them signed up.

    Cheers

  8. I’ll give you a different angle to this. I’m joining up, as I’m an adult player who is going to bring a T1 frigate with little to no tricks, just for the fun of it – I mean, why wouldn’t you.

If someone wants to set up the equivalent of a hot drop to get a T1 frigate kill, who cares – ain’t gonna make me run off crying.

It will make me no bother with the tournament any further, so I truly hope for the sake of it this sort of thing is avoided, but I have faith people really won’t be that shitty about the whole thing!

  10. This is all good and well, but where can i see a list of players and their positions in the tourney so i can see who to challenge?

  11. Is there a limit to the amount of times you can challenge an individual player?
