Just because its been quiet around here doesn’t mean that very little has been going on in the MMM office. Apart from a secret little project we’ve been seriously pondering (as you will know we do like to prevaricate to an absurd degree), we’ve been quietly beavering away on the latest EON magazine while EVE enjoyed all the attention through the summer. The magazine actually came back from the printers last week and is currently well on the way to arriving in subscriber mailboxes around the world. For those in the UK with active subscriptions, their copy should already be with them.
It’s something of a milestone to have reached the 25th issue. When I was first approached to help develop an EVE magazine I recall making a mental note that it would perhaps last eight issues – two years – and that if EON reached 25 issues-old a minor miracle will have occurred. And here we are, almost seven years on, and in spite of the persistently-reported demise of print media and the deaths of some great gaming reads, EON continues to exist. I sense that reaching issue 50 will be beyond even EON’s ability to buck trends, but stranger things have come to pass. In order to tempt fate I would pledge to eat my own fingers if we’re still stuffing envelopes in 2019, but by then my digits will have been worn away by constant touchscreen abuse so I’ll just make a mental note to be pleasantly surprised and forever grateful that people seem to enjoy whatever it is we do around here.
